What is RecyTrax?
RecyTrax is a web application that follows every end-of-life appliance (household appliances, refrigeration equipment, electronics) received at a recycling facility: its reception, its degassing (recovery of the refrigerant gas), its dismantling, then the departure of the recovered materials in outbound batches and their shipment to a buyer. From these operations, RecyTrax produces the registers and the mass balance your organization needs.
This page gives a broad overview of the application. Each module then has its own detailed page.
Who uses RecyTrax
| Profile | What they do in RecyTrax |
|---|---|
| Reception clerk | Records the loads delivered by carriers and creates the inbound batches. |
| Degassing operator | Works through the list of units to degas and records the recovered gas. |
| Dismantling operator | Works through the list of units to dismantle. |
| Shipping clerk | Prepares outbound batches and ships them to buyers. |
| Supervisor, manager | Follows the dashboard and views or exports the reports. |
| Administrator | Manages the reference lists (materials, products, warehouses, partners…), the users and the subscription. |
Each person only sees the menus that match their permissions. One user can combine several profiles. See Roles and permissions.
The journey of an appliance
Appliances arrive in a reception and are grouped into inbound batches. Each unit then goes through degassing (if its product type is degassed), then dismantling. The recovered materials are placed in outbound batches, which leave in a shipment. This journey and its statuses are explained in The journey of an appliance and Statuses.

Your organization
RecyTrax is used by several organizations. Each one has its own space, separate from the others:
- its own users and their roles;
- its own reference lists: materials, products, packagings, warehouses, valorizations, partners;
- its own receptions, batches, shipments and reports;
- its own numbering: each organization's first reception is R-1, its first inbound batch LE-1, and so on;
- its own subscription.
You never see another organization's data. Your account belongs to a single organization: its name is shown in My account, under Organization, and it is the one you choose on the sign-in page (see Signing in and passwords).
Accounts are created by your organization's administrator, from Administration › Users. You then receive an invitation by email to choose your password.
In French or in English
RecyTrax opens in French. You can switch to English at any time with the globe icon in the header; your choice is remembered in this browser. Dates and numbers follow the chosen language.
The names your organization entered (materials, products, partners, warehouses…) are not translated: they are shown as they were entered.
On desktop, tablet and phone
RecyTrax runs in the web browser: there is nothing to install. The layout adapts to the screen size:
| Device | What changes |
|---|---|
| Computer (wide screen) | The menu is docked on the left; you can collapse it to its icons. |
| Tablet | The menu opens as a drawer with the Menu button (☰) in the header. |
| Phone | A navigation bar at the bottom of the screen gives access to your most-used screens, the Scan button and the Menu; each screen's main button sits at the bottom, within thumb reach; lists are shown as cards. |
On tablets and phones, the device's camera is used to scan the batches' QR codes. See Finding your way around the interface and QR codes and labels.
