My account and subscription
The My account screen gathers your personal details and your password. For users who have the permission, it also shows the organization's RecyTrax subscription and gives access to the billing portal (invoices, payment method).
Before you start
- Any signed-in user can open My account; no permission is needed.
- The Subscription tab and the subscription banner are only visible with the Subscription permission, granted by default to the organization's administrator role (see Roles and permissions).
Opening My account
- Click your user name at the top right of the screen (on a phone, the person icon).
- Click My account.
The screen opens with the title My account and the description "Your details and your password." Under the title, a card identifies you: your initials in a circle, your full name (or your user name if you have no name), your user name and, under Organization, the name of your organization.
Below it are tabs: Profile, Password and, if you have access, Subscription.
Editing your profile
- In the Profile tab, change the fields you want.
- Click Save. To go back to the saved values without changing anything, click Cancel.
Both buttons stay greyed out until you change something. After saving, the message "Profile updated." appears, and your name is updated in the header.
Fields
| Field | Description | Required |
|---|---|---|
| First name | Your first name (64 characters at most). | No |
| Last name | Your last name (64 characters at most). | No |
| User name | The identifier you sign in with (256 characters at most). | Yes |
| Phone | Your phone number, in the (111) 111-1111 format. Optional, but if entered it must be complete. | No |
| Your email address (256 characters at most). A badge shows Confirmed or Not confirmed. | Yes |
Rules
- An empty required field, a badly formed email or an incomplete phone number gets a red border; under the phone, RecyTrax reminds you of the expected format "Format: (111) 111-1111".
- Changing your email. "If you change your email, it will need to be confirmed again." As soon as you change the address, the badge switches to Not confirmed. After saving, the message becomes "Profile updated. Confirm your new email."
- Locked fields. If your organization does not allow changing the user name or the email, the field is read-only and shows "Changes disabled by the administrator."
- Simultaneous change. If your profile was changed elsewhere in the meantime (for example by an administrator), RecyTrax shows "Your profile was changed elsewhere. The latest values have been reloaded." Make your changes again on the reloaded values, then save.
- If the chosen user name or email is already used by another account, RecyTrax refuses to save and explains why in an error window.
Your user name is what you sign in with. If you change it, use the new one from your next sign-in (you can also sign in with your email address).
Changing your password
- Open the Password tab.
- Type your Current password.
- Type the New password. Under the field, the list of rules ticks itself as you type (solid icon and green text when the rule is met).
- Type it again in Confirm new password.
- Click Change password. The button stays greyed out while the current password is not entered, a rule is not met or the confirmation differs from the new password.
The message "Password changed." confirms the change and the fields are cleared. Use the new password from your next sign-in.
New password rules
By default, the list contains two rules:
| Rule shown | Meaning |
|---|---|
| "At least 6 characters" | Minimum length of the password. |
| "Different from the current password" | The new password cannot be the same as the current one. |
If your organization requires more, other rules are added to the list: "At least … different characters", "A lowercase letter", "An uppercase letter", "A digit", "A special character".
Messages
| Message | Cause |
|---|---|
| "The two passwords do not match." | The confirmation does not exactly repeat the new password. |
| A red message under Current password | The current password entered is wrong. Type it again. |
Special cases
- No password yet. The tab shows "You don't have a password yet. Set one to sign in with your user name." The Current password field is not asked for and the button is called Set password.
- External sign-in. If your account signs in through an external service, the tab shows "Your account uses an external sign-in: it has no RecyTrax password."
Forgot your current password? Sign out and use Forgot password? on the sign-in page (see Signing in and passwords).
Viewing the subscription
The Subscription tab shows the state of your organization's RecyTrax subscription. The subscription itself (invoices, payment method, cancellation) is managed in the secure billing portal of Stripe, RecyTrax's payment provider.
Depending on the situation, the tab shows:
| Situation | What you see |
|---|---|
| The subscription is not set up yet for your organization | "Your subscription is not set up yet. Please contact Genisys." |
| The subscription details cannot be obtained right now | "Subscription management is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later." |
| Normal case | Status, a badge with the status, possibly "Ends on …", and the Manage subscription button. |
Subscription statuses
| Status | Meaning | Badge colour |
|---|---|---|
| Active | The subscription is paid and up to date. | Green |
| Trial period | The subscription is in its trial period: nothing has been charged yet. | Green |
| Payment past due | The last payment failed; it will be attempted again. | Yellow |
| Unpaid | The new payment attempts failed and an invoice is still due. | Yellow |
| First payment pending | The first payment of the subscription has not gone through yet. | Yellow |
| Paused | The subscription is paused: no invoices are issued. | Grey |
| Canceled | The subscription has ended. | Yellow |
| No subscription | Your organization has no current subscription. | Grey |
When an Active subscription was canceled but runs until the end of the paid period, the badge turns yellow and the end date is shown next to it: "Ends on November 13, 2026", for example.
Managing the subscription in the billing portal
- In My account, open the Subscription tab.
- Click Manage subscription. The billing portal opens in the same browser tab, in the language you use in RecyTrax.
- In the portal, view or download your invoices, update your payment method or, if needed, cancel the subscription.
- Use the portal's return link: it brings you back to My account, on the Subscription tab, which shows the up-to-date status.
RecyTrax keeps no payment data: everything happens in the billing portal. The status shown in RecyTrax may lag up to about ten minutes behind the portal; it is read again as soon as you come back from the portal.
The subscription banner
When the subscription needs action, a yellow banner with a warning triangle appears under the header, on every screen, for users who have the Subscription permission.
| Situation | Banner message | Button |
|---|---|---|
| Payment past due | "The last payment for your RecyTrax subscription failed. Please update your payment method." | Update payment |
| Unpaid | "Your RecyTrax subscription is unpaid. Please settle the outstanding invoice." | Update payment |
| First payment pending | "The first payment for your RecyTrax subscription did not go through." | Update payment |
| Cancellation scheduled | "Your RecyTrax subscription was canceled and will end on …" | Manage subscription |
| Canceled | "Your RecyTrax subscription is canceled. Please contact Genisys to reactivate it." | None |
The banner's button opens the billing portal, like Manage subscription. The banner is a reminder: it blocks no screen, and users without the Subscription permission do not see it. It disappears once the situation is resolved.
Frequently asked questions
I don't see the Subscription tab.
It is reserved for users who have the Subscription permission (by default, the organization's administrators). Ask your administrator.
I updated my card in the portal, but the banner is still there.
Come back to RecyTrax through the portal's return link: the status is read again at that moment. If the payment is still being processed, the banner may stay a few minutes, then disappears on its own.
How do I reactivate a canceled subscription?
The portal cannot start a new subscription. Follow the banner's message: "Please contact Genisys to reactivate it."
My email shows "Not confirmed". Is that a problem?
No, you can keep using RecyTrax. The badge only means the address has not been confirmed yet.
I can't change my user name or my email.
Your organization has disabled these changes; the field shows "Changes disabled by the administrator." Ask your administrator to make the change in Administration › Users.
What happens if I change my user name?
You will have to use the new name at your next sign-in. Your email address still works to sign in.
